Today Square-Enix and Tri-Ace released their debut trailer [on the 27th december] for their upcoming title - Star Ocean 4. The previous title (Till the End of time) didn't leave that much of a good impression on me so after watching this trailer I am actually looking forward to it. So long as they completely change the battle system that TTEOT had.

Is a nice touch that Genki - Freya FTW <3
The more I see and read about it the more I am hyped, so far I have been disappointed with Infinited Undiscovery which had a lot of potential but just too many let downs, I hope Star Ocean plays as well as it looks. If it doesn't still can look forward to Last Remnant.

Now that I got the game and played it lots I can honestly say I found this the most enjoyable SO game yet, I can see the improvements easily. I feel the game is too short as I completed it around the 35hr mark. There are 2 secret dungeons to keep you busy at the end and also crafting and farming for rare items to craft end game gear also with synthing attributes to items.
Characters are of a wide variety and stereotypical archtypes and each develope well and their stories progress as you get further into the game. Skill's aren't that plentiful until higher levels but that isn't an issue, the secretly found skills are much better anyway. Story itself had more than enough to keep me entertained and wanting to progress more which is obviously the most important element in RPG's. The story will also take you through a good amount of emotions and some suprising (but I found it to be obvious) twists. Gameplay is what you can expect from SO, all active, controlling 1 character whilst others have a set style/tactics that the AI follows. New addition is being able to blindside an enemy which dodges and attack and moves behind for some critical attacks when timed correctly.
One of the best RPG's on 360 to date. Eternal Sonata will hold a special place for me personally speaking. Definately worth picking up for any RPG fan with a 360.
